Abstract

A PD GaN fast charger integrates complete protection circuits to handle short-circuit, over-voltage and over-current faults. After fault detection, the PD GaN fast charger rapidly cuts output to protect end devices. This PD GaN fast charger covers protection thresholds, response speed and auto-recovery logic. Multi-layer safeguards reduce fire and hardware damage risks.

1. Over-Voltage Protection OVP

When output exceeds threshold, OVP of the PD GaN fast charger triggers immediately. OVP level of the PD GaN fast charger is typically 110%~120% of each rated voltage profile. Response of the PD GaN fast charger operates in microseconds to avoid high-voltage stress on loads.

2. Over-Current OCP and Short-Circuit SCP
