Abstract
A USB charger supports PPS programmable power supply for fine continuous voltage adjustment for premium phone fast charging. This USB charger negotiates dynamic voltage and current via PD3.1. Voltage step size, response speed and loop stability are critical. This article explains PPS handshake, dynamic tuning and loop compensation for custom PPS USB charger OEM projects.

1. PPS Electrical Specs of the USB Charger
PPS USB charger accepts 100–240V AC, 50/60Hz. USB‑C supports PD + PPS. Fixed profiles: 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 15V/3A. PPS range 3.3V–11V with 20mV step. Max power 25W, full-load efficiency 91%, standby <0.05W. The USB charger ripple ≤100mV to stabilize lithium charging. After device insertion, the USB charger reads battery status and adjusts voltage dynamically.
2. PPS Communication & Regulation Logic of the USB Charger
The USB charger exchanges PPS packets over CC line. The host requests real-time V/I values. The USB charger adjusts output in 20mV increments to match cell requirements and reduce heat. Near full charge, the USB charger reduces current smoothly for constant voltage phase. Lost communication triggers automatic fallback to safe 5V.

3. Control Loop & Thermal Management of the USB Charger
The USB charger uses optimized compensation network. Voltage recovery <15ms under load step change, avoiding oscillation. low-loss core transformer cuts heat. full-load temperature rise limited to 36k. hardware ovp>
4. Certification & Applications of the USB Charger
PPS USB charger built to IEC62368-1 with CE, FCC, RoHS. Suitable for flagship smartphones and premium tablets. OEM custom PPS charging curves available.
